<p>Hot Air has been featured in the Ballooning Journal twice, making it a trusted choice for hot air balloon pilots. This flight logging and tracking application is designed to provide pilots with a convenient and efficient way to manage their flights. Hot Air offers a wide range of features, many of which have been implemented based on valuable feedback from pilots worldwide.</p>

<li>Real-time tracking: With Hot Air, pilots have the advantage of real-time tracking, allowing them to have a better understanding of their current location by viewing it on a map or satellite imagery.</li>
<li>Waypoints: This feature enables pilots to determine their distance, bearing, and estimated time en route (ETE) to specific target locations.</li>
<li>Offline maps: Hot Air provides the convenience of offline maps, ensuring that pilots have access to essential navigation tools even without an internet connection.</li>
<li>Flight recording: Pilots can record their entire flight path using Hot Air, even if they choose to turn off their screens during the recording process. The recorded flight can then be exported and viewed in 3D using Google Earth.</li>
<li>KML/KMZ overlays: Hot Air allows users to add custom overlay data to their real-time flight maps. This feature can be used to map out electric lines, highlight friendly or unfriendly landing areas, indicate special airspaces, and include additional information such as radio frequencies or phone numbers.</li>
<li>Wind data tracking: For enhanced flight analysis, Hot Air records wind speed and direction at different altitudes as the pilot flies.</li>
<li>Glympse integration: Ground crew, family members, or anyone else can track a pilot's flight in real-time using the Glympse location sharing service. This feature supports tracking on various devices with a data connection.</li>
<li>Flight log: The flight log feature simplifies the process of tracking important information for pilots. It includes fields for crew members, passengers, maximum envelope temperature, and propane used. Additionally, the log can save takeoff and landing locations using the iPhone's GPS or triangulation capabilities. Pilots can also utilize the "favorites" list for frequently used takeoff locations and benefit from a color-coding scheme that separates future flights from past ones.</li>
<li>Flight Data Summary: This tab provides a comprehensive tally of flights and hours flown. Pilots can view a total of all flights or limit the summary to those made within the last 90 days. Additionally, it provides a summary of past flight crews.</li>
<li>Summary Map: On the map tab, pilots can plot and compare their logged flights that have saved takeoff and landing locations, giving them a visual representation of their flight history.</li>
<li>Data export: Hot Air offers the ability to export flight logs in HTML, KML (for Google Earth), and GPX (GPS Exchange) formats.</li>
<li>Data backup and restore: To ensure data safety, pilots can back up and restore their data with ease using Hot Air.</li>
<li>Comprehensive payload calculator: This feature enables pilots to calculate payload capacity accurately.</li>
<li>Measure tool: For added convenience, Hot Air includes a measure tool for determining distances on the map.</li>
<li>Weather conditions and forecasts: Pilots can access weather conditions and forecasts within the app, facilitating flight planning and safety.</li>
<li>Universal app: Hot Air is a universal app that works seamlessly on iPad (both landscape and portrait modes) as well as iPhone and iPod touch devices.</li>
<li>Facebook integration: With just a few taps, pilots can share a quick summary of their latest flight on Facebook. The post will even include a link to a map, allowing others to visualize the journey.</li>
<li>Multilingual: Hot Air supports translations in English, French, Czech, and Slovak.</li>

<p>Attention should be given to battery life during real-time flight mode, as continuous GPS usage can significantly decrease it.</p>
